Viruses And Worms

Now a days many of us come to know about the viruses while working on while surfing through the internet. There is something like misunderstanding in the people that there are only viruses. There is also a term called worms.
 There is the difference between the viruses and worms. Many people think that both the virus and worms are same.
NO they are not the same.
There is only one similarity between them is that they are the lines of code which are generated to infect the systems.

Viruses are the self replicating program that produces its own codes by attaching copies of itself into another executable codes. Some virus affect computers as soon as their code is executed; others viruses lie dormant until a pre determined logical circumstance is met.

Worm is a malicious program that can infect both local and remote machines. Worms spread automatically by infecting system after system in a network, and even spreading further to other networks.

According to their actions worms are the most effective than viruses, but also get deleted very easily from the system. where as worms only take actions when the file or the program is getting executed, but deleting virus is a very hard from the system.

There are stages of Viruses and Worms.

1.  Creating a virus or designing a virus is done using toolkit or any programming language.
2. The virus then replicates for a period of time in the target system and spreads itself.
3. In this stage it gets activated when user performs certain actions like opening infected files or   programs.
4. Now virus is identified/detected as threat infecting target system.
5. The anti-virus software developers assimilate defenses against  the system.
6. Last and the final stage is that, the virus gets eliminated.
